Step 1
Contact me, we'll check the date and make a time to catch up either face to face or via Zoom
We discuss your ideas, I offer some suggestions, and I step you through the legals
If we're a good match, you sign me up and we complete the FIRST lot of paperwork, the NOIM (Notice of Intended Marriage). If you’re interstate, overseas or we just can’t meet face to face at the moment, we can still do the NOIM as I can witness a couple sign their NOIM over zoom. Known as ‘lodgement’ of the NOIM, this must be AT LEAST one month prior to the ceremony.
You pay a booking fee and, woohoo, you've got yourself a celebrant!
If we don’t hit it off, that's fine, we each go our separate ways. I firmly believe there is a right celebrant for every couple and I'll happily refer some of my colleagues to you.
Step 2
If you’re not eloping, I send you my extensive Wedding Kit (a whole lot of resources for you) including my questionnaire and worksheet and you’ll get access to the couples’ portal on my website.
After reading through the worksheet, you let me know what you want (and don't want) in your ceremony - no boring stuff here! I use the responses to your questionnaires and my notes to create ‘your story’.
I create the first draft of your ceremony for you both to review and this will have lots of ideas and suggestions to make your ceremony fun.
I make any changes required and we go back and forth until it's exactly what you two want.
We may have further meetings but, either way, this is when we'll most likely set a tentative date for the rehearsal / run-through.
Step 3
If you’re available, we have a rehearsal with everyone involved in the ceremony who is able to make it.
We sign the SECOND piece of legal paperwork. If we aren’t having a rehearsal, I will meet with you prior to the ceremony to get this document signed.
Step 4
I arrive at least 45m prior to the ceremony to set up and check everything is in hand.
I do my thang and, voila, you're married!
With the two witnesses, we sign the final THREE pieces of legal paperwork, the certificates.
Step 5
I upload all your paperwork to BDM (Department of Births, Deaths & Marriages) within twenty-four hours but, legally, I have 14 days to submit. I just like to do it tout suite!
I then keep an eye on BDMs database and notify you when I see your marriage has been registered. If you’ve entrusted me to apply for your official Marriage Certificate, it is processed by BDM when they register your marriage and sent straight to your post box! Yup, snail mail but it’s via express post to make doubly sure it arrives in YOUR hot little hands!
That's it! Easy huh? Oh, and you then give me an amazing review! TIA x
