I’d like a dollar for everytime I’ve been asked this question, particularly from the groom at our first meeting. And my answer is always the same, absolutely! This is YOUR ceremony, not mine. But, and there’s always a but isn’t there, I WILL give you a multitude of options and a list of everything you CAN include in your ceremony so you two are the ones making the decision about what you want and, more importantly, DON’T want in your ceremony.
No one wants to listen to a boring, monologue where the celebrant drones on and on, you two say your vows, and then they drone on a bit more! The bar is calling and your guests are checking their phones. That’s not my style. I’m more a laid-back, chilled, relaxed, and have-a-few-laughs type of celebrant and it’ll be as simple as you want it to be. The key is to add in some humour……

Most ceremonies today take between 20-30 minutes, with elopement-style ceremonies taking only 10-15 minutes. Either way, it’s not a long time and you’ll be sharing a few frothies and shampers with your guests in no time! You’ll probably say to each other at the end of the day, wow, that went quickly!
