At the very first meeting you learn alot about a couple and my meeting with Abbie and Harley was no different. They talked about their lives, their passion for the environment and how they envisaged their wedding day. So I wasn’t surprised when they told me they had chosen Merne as their venue for both the ceremony and the reception. It ticked all their boxes: the chillaxed vibe, the rustic eucalypt grove, the amazing food and the gorgeous outlook across to Point Nepean and the Mornington Peninsula.
This couple were so relaxed about their day that when the heavens opened there was no problem in relocating the ceremony indoors to Merne’s spacious decking.
In typical Victoria-fashion, we got the best of both worlds. We had a dry and very intimate ceremony inside and then the sun came out and everyone moved outside for a few lawn games, some photos, and then back inside for a sumptious celebratory lunch.
Abbie and Harley knew exactly the wedding-style they wanted: simplicity and elegance. The florals for the bouquets and arbour were gathered from their home in Apollo Bay.
In addition to her full-time job in tourism, Abbie is a beautician and did her own hair and makeup. Her gorgeous Sherry Hill dress she purchased online and had modified to suit. And, continuing the simple but elegant theme, Abbie and Harley’s wedding cake was from The Cheesecake Shop.
Best wishes Abbie and Harley for a lifetime of happiness and love!
